Barry Wandel serves as Vice President of Software Engineering at XPRIZE, where he leads the vision, strategy, and execution of the organization’s core software platforms. Reporting to the CTO, Barry oversees cross-functional teams responsible for developing secure, scalable, and mission-critical solutions that support every corner of the organization.

With over 20 years of experience in software engineering, scalable architecture, and system integration, Barry brings both technical precision and strategic foresight to his leadership. He partners closely with the VP of Technology to deliver highly reliable, globally accessible systems that power XPRIZE’s ambitious, high-impact work.

A strong believer in using technology to unlock human potential, Barry is passionate about integrating emerging innovations including AI, machine learning, and data engineering into the XPRIZE ecosystem. His approach blends operational excellence with bold experimentation, enabling the organization to remain agile, secure, and ready to scale.
